Acceptable Use Policy
Overview
Deliverability, trust, and platform integrity are shared responsibilities. FormlyIQ is a form backend platform designed to securely capture, process, route, and store submissions on behalf of our customers. To protect senders, recipients, and our infrastructure, this Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules that govern how you may use FormlyIQ.
By accessing or using FormlyIQ, you agree to abide by this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you are using FormlyIQ on behalf of an organization, you are responsible for ensuring that all users under your account comply with these rules.
Permitted Use
You may use FormlyIQ to:
- Collect messages, inquiries, applications, and other submissions from visitors who voluntarily initiate contact through your websites, web apps, or digital products.
- Receive submission notifications, route data to trusted destinations (email, Slack, Notion, Zapier, etc.), and store data in your integrated services.
- Send transactional confirmation emails triggered by a user's own form submission, when the recipient reasonably expects to receive a reply.
- Build internal workflows, developer tools, and data pipelines that process opt-in submissions for legitimate business purposes.
- Use the REST API to programmatically manage forms, retrieve submissions, and automate workflows within your authorized account.
Submission Quality & Platform Health
FormlyIQ continuously monitors platform usage to maintain a healthy ecosystem for all customers. We track delivery rates, spam complaints, bounce rates, and abuse signals across the platform.
To protect the health of the platform for all users, you must keep your forms focused on legitimate, opt-in conversations. Patterns that threaten deliverability, generate excessive complaints, or cause operational disruption may result in rate limiting, throttling, or account suspension — with or without prior notice.
When possible, we will work with you to investigate and remediate issues before taking enforcement action. However, in cases of clear or severe abuse, we will act immediately to protect our infrastructure and other customers.
Prohibited Sending Purposes
You may not use FormlyIQ for any of the following purposes:

Form Collection Practices
You are solely responsible for ensuring that the forms you build and operate through FormlyIQ comply with all applicable consent and data protection laws in every jurisdiction where your users are located. Your obligations include:
- Explicit consent — Collect submissions only from users who have knowingly, freely, and specifically consented to share their information and understand how it will be used.
- Transparency — Provide clear, accessible disclosure about how submitted data will be used, stored, processed, and shared — including with FormlyIQ as your data processor.
- Access to opt-out — Offer a simple, immediate way for users to revoke consent, unsubscribe from communications, or request deletion of their data, and honor such requests within statutory timelines (typically 30 days or less).
- Data minimization — Collect only the personal data that is strictly necessary for the stated purpose. Avoid collecting highly sensitive categories of data (health, financial, biometric, government ID) unless legally authorized and appropriately secured.
- Accurate representation — Do not misrepresent to your form submitters who is collecting their data, why it is being collected, or what will be done with it.
- Age gating — Do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) without verifiable parental consent.
Account Integrity
Each FormlyIQ account is intended for use by a single individual or authorized organization. The following are prohibited:
- Creating multiple accounts to bypass plan limits, submission caps, rate limits, or other restrictions
- Sharing API keys or account credentials with unauthorized third parties
- Circumventing billing, usage metering, or account verification mechanisms
- Misrepresenting your identity, company, or intended use when registering or communicating with FormlyIQ support
We reserve the right to apply usage limits, throttle requests, merge duplicate accounts, or terminate accounts engaged in evasion tactics.
Security Responsibilities
You must safeguard all API keys, form endpoint URLs, webhook URLs, and account credentials associated with your FormlyIQ account. Your security responsibilities include:
- Storing API keys securely (e.g., in environment variables or secrets managers — never in public code repositories)
- Rotating credentials immediately if you suspect unauthorized access or compromise
- Enabling Domain Restriction on forms that should only accept submissions from specific websites
- Reporting any suspected security vulnerabilities in the FormlyIQ platform to [email protected]
FormlyIQ is not responsible for data breaches, unauthorized access, or other security incidents stemming from compromised customer credentials or misconfigured customer integrations.
Monitoring & Enforcement
FormlyIQ monitors platform activity to detect abuse, policy violations, and security threats. Our enforcement actions may include:
- Warnings — For minor first-time violations, we may issue a warning and require remediation within a specified timeframe.
- Rate limiting or throttling — Temporary restrictions on submission volume or API access.
- Feature suspension — Disabling specific integrations or capabilities while a violation is investigated.
- Account suspension — Temporary suspension pending investigation of serious violations.
- Account termination — Permanent termination for severe, repeated, or unresolved violations, without refund.
- Legal action — Reporting violations to law enforcement, regulators, or affected parties where required or appropriate.
Where possible and appropriate, we will notify you of enforcement actions and give you an opportunity to respond. However, we reserve the right to act immediately without notice when necessary to protect users, third parties, or platform integrity.
Reporting Violations
We take reports of abuse seriously. If you believe someone is violating this Acceptable Use Policy, please let us know immediately:
- Report Abuse form: formlyiq.io/report-abuse
- Email: [email protected] (subject: "Abuse Report")
Please include as much detail as possible: the form URL or submission endpoint involved, a description of the abuse, and any relevant evidence. We review all reports and take appropriate action, though we may not be able to disclose the outcome for confidentiality reasons.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy as our services evolve, the threat landscape changes, or legal requirements are updated. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email.
Continued use of FormlyIQ after the effective date of any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Acceptable Use Policy.
Thank you for helping us keep FormlyIQ safe, reliable, and trustworthy for everyone.
